WEEK 26 & 27 - THE VIEW FROM THE TOP

Having been away for 2 weeks, even I am surprised at what Kenrick and the Team have achieved.

The Pump Room has a door and thus there is now a secure storage area.

The 2 main columns have been suitably fertilised and have grown 2 further stages. I still don't know whether Terminus is removing the form-work from the inside, but the aperture at the top is becoming too narrow for even him to escape.

The rain water from the Pool has been syphoned off and the jacuzzi form-work is almost complete.

The bottom drain is in position and Guy should be installing the conduit for the lighting next week.

The stairs to the Master Bedroom are now complete, along with the dividing wall.

The masons have been working overtime and completed the block-work to the eaves.

The main focus has been with the Tower. The 12'' blocks have proved to be the best option for seamless walls both inside and out, however the weight of each unit is ensuring the masons are all going to be contenders for 'the world's strongest man' by the time they reach the top!

The final ring beam has been cast .......

and the final shape of the Tower is beginning to emerge.

The form-work and steel for the top of the Tower floor have been laid and, due to the lack of a helicopter, I have had to take the photos in sections whilst wobbling precariously from the side.

The views from the top of the Tower on a winter's evening are superb. I only wish I had taken an ice-cold Piton with me.

Brett & Sabina will be able to keep an eye on their other property - and the neighbours as well!

From across the valley, the overall shape of the project is now evident.

But as for the immediate neighbours - nice try, but no cigar as yet!
