WEEK 29 - RAIN & CONCRETE

Sadly, week 29 has seen more rain which has curtailed activity on site yet again. On Thursday the downpour was continuous for 15 hours and left the water above in what had been a dry pool!
Despite the weather some progress has been made but, as in the UK there are the 'watchers' and the 'doers'!!

Mr McDoon the swimming pool specialist has commenced work this week, replacing the old plumbing with new material.

The skimmers.

Slots for the jets.
Both main columns have now been cast to beam height ......

and form-work for the beams has commenced.

The floor of the Jacuzzi has been cast and the form-work and steel for the walls are nearly complete.

The 12" block-work for the Tower is now at top floor level.

The internal view looking downwards.

The wall between the main column and house has been built.

The sight of Kenrick with plans, hotly pursued by Malcolm, disappearing around the corner is always worrying ........

however, they always end up smiling - I think!!!!

The neighbours still haven't cast the top floor, so rather than bore you with yet more pictures of steel, form-work and conduit, here are a couple showing the Piton Piler constructing a breakwater of rocks in an attempt to thwart nature shifting the sand into the bay during a hurricane swell.
