WEEK 21 - RAIN, CONCRETE, RAIN, BLOCKS

The 'rainy season' continues to live up to its name with the water-level in the swimming pool now above the second of the existing steps!

The metal bars for the grating at the bottom of the drive were welded and are now cast into the concrete/block.

More evidence of the lying water.

The flora and fauna have been removed from beneath the lounge floor.

Final preparations for the casting of the Pump Room/verandah floors included compacting a layer of readymix, laying the damp proofing and placing the BRC.

The first main column was topped up with concrete .........

whilst the footings for the second were cast - although you can't see it here due to the water!!!

Following the casting of the main ring beam at the begining of the week, block work was commenced on the top floor. This picture shows the entrance to the Master Bathroom taking shape.

The gable end.

This is the form-work for the first of the round windows within the gable end. Although not visible, this was cast today.

Elsewhere, the form-work for the archway into the Tower was completed and the bottom half cast.

The neighbours have also had a good week with the form-work for the ring beam largely completed.

The view across the valley becomes even more impressive.
