WEEK 8 - THE TOWER RISES FROM THE MUD

The rainy season is upon us and the site is now quite muddy. However, progress has been made this week with the scaffolding and some form work being removed from the pump room/verandah roof.

These shots show the extent of the mud/water at the bottom of the drive. The materials were delivered on Friday and the construction of the drain and grating will be a priority next week.

The stone wall is now complete for this stage and is a good match for the existing stone-work.

The floor of the flat has been back-filled, compacted, filled with crusher run and compacted again ready for casting - hopefully next week.

The kitchen bay-window form work is complete and the semi-circle caste, along with the large beam supporting the floor immediately adjacent to the bay.

Now that the final dimensions for the doors and windows has been received, the block work for the walls of the living/dining room has commenced.

The big news of the week is the construction of the centre scaffolding for the tower and the casting of the 4 columns at an angle to facilitate the tapering of the wall..

The next-door-neighbours are failing to match Kenrick's blistering pace and are now too far behind to catch up!

And finally, a (better?!) view across the valley.
