As the BFB² event draws rapidly closer - 56 days to go - there has been frenzied activity on most areas of the site.
André arrived as promised last weekend and resurfaced and polished the floors. Not perfect, but a great improvement on the previous attempt.
Tiling has continued in the pool wet room and the bubbled flooring has been laid. With navy blue on the back wall, turquoise on the front wall, broken mirrors in the alcoves and coloured stones on the floor, I await with baited breath the colour and texture of the side walls!
Shevran and O'Neal started the week levelling the master swinging bed ......
.... and then returned to the carpenter's workshop where they are constructing single beds for Guest Bedroom 1.
A chandelier has been installed at the base of the Tower to add to the Celtic 'feel' of the area. The terracotta Chinese soldier is looking a bit bemused, but perhaps he is destined for elsewhere!
The glass porthole in the floor above the car port has been uncovered and cleaned.
The pool has been prepared for tiling, but is awaiting a prolonged period without rain to assist with the curing process.
A mirror has been installed in the wardrobe door in Guest Bedroom 1 - Note: must get a stronger flash.
Security lights are beginning to illuminate as you pass by.
Furniture is beginning to appear from its wrapping and awaits positioning in is allotted place.
In amongst all this frenzied activity, Brett has been deftly painting wood grain onto the mahogany arches in an attempt to hide the joins.
Owin and friend continue with the big clean-up. The wooden construction is to ease the way for the wheel barrow emptying the rubble from the BBQ store room.
The main focus this week has been the installation of the kitchen units and appliances.
Sabina has been in the thick of it but here is looking a little upset as the screws provided by the UK supplier have no threads!!!
Once the frames were installed, the contractor arrived to fashion the plywood templates for the marble working surfaces.
The local wild-life is taking up residence and wondering what will appear from the next packing case.
