WEEK 121 - MIRACAL WOOD TREATMENT!

A good week weather wise with Hurricanes Danielle and Earl passing us by harmlessly in mid-Atlantic.  A third is just leaving the African coast and looks a little more menacing, so we will be keeping a watch on its track over the next few days.

The Team have been doing some work under the kitchen and lounge floors to prepare for the inspection covers for the water tanks and speakers.

Work has started on the ramp leading from the Master Bedroom into the en-suite bathroom.

The masons have been finishing off the external stonework after the insertion of the strengthening roof beams...

... and also around the main entrance door.

Prior to their departure last week, Brett & Sabina discovered a new miracle wood sealant/covering that lasts forever after the first application, despite the ravages of the sun, rain, humidity and salt laden atmosphere.  It has been applied to the guest bedroom veranda and all of us who have wooden homes that have to be re-treated every 2 years are waiting with baited breath to see if 'it does what it says on the can'!

The car port ceiling is in the process of being sanded and HLSed.  The glossy sheen shown here will disappear when the wood receives a light sanding prior to the final coat being applied.

The green heart wood slats have been inserted into the pool surround ceiling.

Some of the stone has been laid into the external kitchen steps.  The finish is not very evident in the bright sunlight.  I will wash them down and hopefully show the full effect next week.

Guy - the electrician - has had a frustrating week 'pulling through' all the wires for the pool lights.  How he knows which one is which will always be a mystery!

I made a site visit during the lunch break and expected to find the Team all asleep in the usual Lucian manner.  But not so,  Terminus and Roach were engrossed in a game of Backgammon ....

... whilst the rest were playing the more traditional dominoes.

Note the use of what was to be the circular detail in the railings now being put to use as the domino playing surfaces!!!!!!
