WEEK 11 - WATER TANK AND BEAMS

Week 11 has been severely hampered by the weather. A strong tropical wave passed over St Lucia bringing showers of torrential rain. Progress has thus been slower than usual but the team have managed to move on.

The week of rain prompted Wasco to eventually connect the water supply ......

which was hardly necessary as we have collected alot of water in the swimming pool. You can just see (I hope) that the remainder of the stones have been removed from the pool surrounds this week.

The scaffolding for the continuation of the stone wall at the front and side of the house has been erected ........

and the wall is now rising towards the main floor level.

Beam and column work has continued in the basement flat area .....

along with the associated electricity and plumbing instalations.

The main focus of the week has been the destruction of the roof of the main water tank.
Revealing the true extent of the corrosion of the old supporting girders.

Plywood formwork is now in place over most of the tank .......

supported by bamboo scaffolding beneath.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
