WEEK 144 - TILES R US - AGAIN!

A productive week with progress on several fronts.

Construction of the wooden inserts for the Main Entrance staircase has commenced.

The louvres for the 2 Guest Bedrooms have been repositioned so that they are now flush with the external wall.

Construction of the shower walls in the Guest Bedrooms has continued ......

.... and the tiling of the shower areas commenced.

There is now a proper stairway to the Master Bedroom which has put a stop to the acrobatic manoeuvres required to gain access to the top floor! .....

..... and the landing at the top of the stairs has received its floor-boards.

The masons have cast the steps leading from the BBQ area to the garden ......

.... and they have also plastered in the arched windows in the Lounge.

There were showers of rain during this week's photo session and I took the opportunity to snap the external Kitchen stairs in a rare moment when you can see the true colours of the stone steps.

Again the main focus has been the continuance of the laying of the terracotta tiles in the corridors of the Studio Flat ........,

..... the Utility Room ......

.... and the cupboard under the stairs.

And finally, a bird's eye view of the dominoes table from the Master Bedroom balcony!

Reluctantly, the decision has finally been taken to discard the locally made ridge tiles in favour of a clay coloured concrete ridge cap.  Kenrick is hoping to complete this long overdue task during the next 2 weeks in order to make the construction water proof and enable the internal finishing process to begin in earnest, and to remove the roof scaffolding so that work can re-start on the Tower.
