I left on Wednesday, they were loading up the dryer with the intention of completing & shipping the container next Saturday............... I'm not convinced they'll complete by next week.....it's soooo frustrating!

WEEK 58 - THE D(R)I(V)E IS CAST!!
Another 4 day week - the festival of Corpus Christi resulting in another Public Holiday.
The stonework for the eastern fascia is now complete.

Here you can just make out the aperture for the round window at the top of the wall.
The joist team have been hard at it and made good progress.

O'Neil making minor adjustments to the alignment.
After delays caused by the unserviceability of the roller, casting of the drive commenced on Friday. Terminus in charge of the mixing .........
whilst the barrow boys collected the concrete .......

and distributed it to Dave and Davey the spreaders.

The 2 British trained members of the Team!
The Team transport home after a successful day of casting.
The shape looking quite castle-like at the moment.
Sabina returned from Guyana on Wednesday having successfully persuaded the wood suppliers to process the next container of wood. Sadly it will not arrive for at least 2 weeks, so once the remaining portion of the drive has been cast, there will be a short break until the wood arrives in country.
A trip to the wood suppliers in Guyana was necessary to find out what was going on with our order. I wish I had gone sooner as I saw our order was still very short & they were dragging their feet; I discovered it was largely due to a dispute between our agent & the supplier.
The Greenheart had been started but several pieces were still missing & needed to be processed.
The Mora logs for the roof slates had arrived & were just being cut when I arrived.
It was fantastic to see the beauty of the logs & the grain before they were cut, the machinery is old but solid .
It was slow & unco-ordinated; during my 10day visit I helped with the grading, cutting & staking of the Mora slates, I wanted them to realise how desperate we were to get our order; they worked Saturday & late every night.
