WEEK 24 - BRETT & SABINA, OMAR, CONCRETE

It has been good to have Brett & Sabina here so that details and concepts can be discussed on site. However, they were able to experience at first hand some of the exceptional rainfall that has hampered progress over the past 4 weeks. Although Hurricane OMAR passed us by some 350 miles to the west, we experienced some of the heavy seas that accompanied it, as can be seen from the following photos.

I think Sabina was a little worried that their sailing trip would be delayed ........

but the sun came out, the sea returned to its normal colour .......

and they set off on time - but the rain is still around!!!!!

Work on-site has continued and much of the form-work has been removed to be used in other areas. The shape and contours of the house are now more in evidence.

The stairs from the pool deck to the Pump Room have been cast ........

and the outline of the jacuzzi painted in preparation for construction.

The stairs to the Master Bedroom have also been cast,

and the block-work for the walls has commenced.

The second ring beam in the Tower is cast, along with the columns which are now up to the next level.

The view across the valley is becoming more impressive.

Whilst the photos were being taken on a quiet Sunday morning, Kenrick arrived to proudly show his dad the progress to-date!
