I apologise to everyone that follows this Blog, for the lack of updates & pictures, it's been a slow year of finishing & re-finishing.
The back entrance has been finalised, & finished; a small sign has been mounted on a pebble column.
A lockable gate has been made & fitted..... handrails added to the back steps.......safe & secure!
Handrails have also been added to the master bedroom staircase....following Brett's tumble, we were probably extremely lucky there were no casualties at his 50th
......and a simple handrail to the car port area....it was just too scary.....the crack to the top of the wall has also been re-plastered & painted.
Fixing leaks.....leaks.....& more leaks!
The leak to the inside of the Tower has finally been successfully stopped, unfortunately there's now another one in the other corner lower down......& a leak in the master bedroom still to be resolved.......
Fingers crossed.....it looks as though the silicone around the bottom edge of the skylight louvers has stopped the water dripping into the living room & bedrooms.
Each corner of the house had unfinished holes & cavities which the bats soon found to be perfect homes.......these needed to be blocked.....an unbelievably difficult task due to the height & awkward areas that need to be reached........the master bedroom is still to be resolved.
Now the maintenance......all the wooden handrails, doors & shutters have had to be sanded & painted with 3 more coats of stained sealer & UV protector......this will probably need to be a yearly job.
There were some creative more inspiring jobs done.......we made 2 polished concrete tables with tree trunk bases
A large one for the pool deck, a smaller one for the studio, both of which I'm very happy with!
I finally completed the mosaics on the guest bedroom shower walls........just one more to go!
The garden is coming on nicely.....I've had- red banana, macaboo, papaya, spinach, aubergine, okra, sweet potatoes, chilli peppers....a few tomatoes & cucumbers.....lots of passion fruit at the moment.
Freshly picked produce........so rewarding!
The next post should be a finished 'Tea House'.....then maintenance.....rentals....&.......parties!
