WEEK 162 - THE SUN KEEPS SHINING

Despite it supposing to be the Rainy Season, the weather has been extremely hot, dry and humid this week. Pending decisions on the final coverings for the Guest Veranda, pool decking and Entrance Hall veranda, the team has been reduced to carpenters and painters.

The alcoves for the Drive lighting have been plastered.

The painters have been busy in the Master Bedroom ...

Kitchen & hallway walls ceiling.....................

... at the top of the Tower ....

.. and the Main Entrance Staircase.
Tetis continues to seal the wood....skylight louvers receive a 3rd coat of wood sealer........

Sabina continues to tidy up after the workers - cleaning the grout off the tiles is a never ending task!!!.......she's bought an extensive range of products from vinegar to acid.

The wood on the doors has now settled & the hinges fully screwed in position, gaps will need to be addressed at a later date.

However, the carpenters have started to fit the mahogany cladding to the columns ....

..... and have all but completed fitting the wooden inlays to the Tower steps.

If you click on this picture you can just make out the beginnings of the inlaid lizard. However, the carving will have to be wider if it is to produce the desired effect.

The finished article should look something like this.

Next week will be another short one due to there being yet another Public Holiday, but Kenrick is hoping to make a start on raising the mahogany arches (under the blue tarpaulin) and the pine poles into the ceiling of the main entrance hall.
