WEEK 109 - WALLABA BEAMS

It has been a good working week weather-wise and, even though there was yet another Public Holiday on Thursday, some of the Team - now numbering 14 - turned up for work to make up the wages lost on the rain abandoned Friday in Week 108.

The roofing felt and lathes are now complete on both sides of the north roof and tiling has commenced.

The plastering team of 4 have managed to keep dry and have been working around the pool ....

.... and the Guest Bedroom.

Sabina and 'Kitten' trying to decide 'Do they go this way ......

... or that way?'

Then Chris the plumber and his team getting in quickly before they changed their mind again!!!!!

Due to the hardness of the various types of wood, tools are in constant need of service/repair/adjustment.

Because of the heavy rain at the end of the week, Kenrick changed the focus from tiling to fitting the decorative Wallaba poles into the north roof ceiling.  The journey started from outside ......

..... to undercover where O'Neil cut the slots in both ends with a chain-saw.

Kenrick has finally purchased a modern metal pulley which has eased the precarious job of raising the poles into the roof.

I must get a better camera that can cope with taking photos pointing from low into bright light situations.

Nearly there.

A few final adjustments in-situ with chain-saw .....

and crow bar.

The Master chain-sawing at the other end.

This gives an idea of the height at which the Team was working.

And finally some of the beams in place.  It's difficult to get the real perspective with all the scaffolding in place, but once it is dismantled the effect will be stunning.
