WEEK 102 - SHAKY SCAFFOLDING

After the rain last week, the weather has now settled into a hot and dry period, ideal for building.

The main focus for the carpenters has been the construction of the scaffolding to allow the completion of the west roof. Watching the men swaying about in the wind as they hung on with one hand whilst lifting and hammering the 4x2s was not for the faint hearted!!

After a long delay, the local clay works decided that they were unable to make the template for the ridge tiles, so Kenrick set about the task himself ......

....... and here is the first sample.

The good weather meant that the Team could recommence work on the external roofing and here you can see the Mora and tiles are nearing the top of the eastern roof.

Not so far advanced on the other side, but still progressing well.

The masons have been working on the walls to the Master Bedroom en-suite to allow the plumbers to fit the piping for the shower mixer units.

The masons have also continued to plaster various areas on the top floor.

Meanwhile, Sabina has collected another load of Mahogany off cuts....

good job she had a strong crew as they had to pull the truck out of the mud, just after loading it with large trunks of wood.......
.

...for the purpose of making furniture, masks, and many more crafts to embelish the Tea House.
