Another dry week with high temperatures but strong, cooling breezes on site.
The main focus has been the laying of roofing felt and fixing with lathes on the east roof.
The skylight on the south roof has been HLSed .......
... whilst the mason has plastered the front of the jacuzzi .....
..with the whole of the pool area now looking quite smart.
The mason has also been tidying-up smaller areas - here the cupboard under the stairs...
... columns and walls in the Utility Room ......
... and around the area of the washing machine/dryer.
The main event of the week has been the felling of the Mahogany trees. Having offered up the template seen here, it became obvious that 2 trees would be required.
Kenrick met up with the lumber-jacks and they set about the first tree.
The first wedge ........
.. and over she goes - exactly where predicted despite my misgivings!
Kenrick directing measurments for cutting.
The second victim.
Once again, precision dropping.
O'Neil, the chain saw operator, had been felling trees for many years and at 62 years old, he was 21 years older than the trees!!
The trunks will now be sawn into logs and transported to site for drying.
