WEEK 97 - THE MORA CREEP

Yet another dry week with only 2 showers lasting 5 minutes each and providing no respite from the drought.  You can see from the picture below how dramatic the change in colour has been.  The normally lush green rain forest is now brown and many of the smaller, less robust plants have died.  All contractors are now collecting water daily from the fast diminishing rivers as the national water supply is severely rationed and there is insufficient pressure to reach the higher ground.
(Remember, if you click on any of the pictures they will be enlarged).

However, it has been ideal building weather and the Mora ceiling has slowly crept upward ....
and northward.

The view from inside the Master Bedroom.

The eaves on both sides of the guest bedrooms have been sanded and HLSed.

Anthony has been busy with both sides of the pool surrounds now plastered .....

... and the outside jacuzzi wall being prepared.
Here the Master checks progress.

The facias of the columns and beams adjacent to the Pump Room have also been plastered.

Kenrick and his 'apprentice' took a welcome couple of hours away from the heat of the site to visit the cool, mountainous area where the Mahogany is to be cut for the arches.

Fortunately, as a result of the visit, it looks as if only one, rather than two of these magnificent trees will provide enough timber to manufacture the complete arch and cladding for the columns.

And finally, some views from around the Bay.

Once again, the unatural colour of the foliage is much in evidence.
