WEEK 72 - RAFTERS ETC

We have had 2 days of rain this week which has slowed progress. The plasterers have been temporarily laid off until the carpenters complete the rafters, so we have a much reduced work-force.

Kenrick has kept the labourers busy cutting down the foliage that has grown around the site and generally tidying up.

After their gardening duties, they set about concreting the conduits for the swimmimg pool lights and plumbing.

The erection of the rafters contiues to be a slow process with much pre-planning and measuring.  Here Kenrick is making the fimal checks before the lifting of the next one into position.

Because of the weight of the rafters, the Team are having to cast the individual pieces into the beams immeadiately after they are moved into position to prevent them from slipping earthwards.

And finally, some different views of the roof so far.
