WEEK 37 - PROGRESS ON ALL FRONTS

After a slow first week of 2009, week 37 has seen the Team accelerate to the speeds of 2008.

The first 3,000 roof tiles have been collected and stored on site - only 27,000 to go!! The colour is not truly representative because of the poor quality flash .......

this is the real thing!

All the tiles for the Studio Flat have also been delivered and unloaded manually from the top road.

Construction has started on the retaining wall for the Car Port .......

with the first beam being cast on Friday just prior to cease work.

The stone work for the kitchen wall has come on apace ....

and when complete, I believe it will become one of the main features of the house.

Guy has been hard at work all week identifying and measuring each individual conduit for the Pool and Jacuzzi lights in order that the fibre optic cables can be ordered.

This is the final destination for all the cables in the Pump Room.

The main task for Kenrick this week has been the construction of the form-work for the Tower stairs. Ascent to the top is now much safer than via the central scaffolding and swinging over the edge!

O'Neil taking a well earned break close to the top of the Tower.

General views this week from the top of the hills behind Doolittle's.

Footnote: On Friday afternoon Mr Brown managed to get his truck all the way to the top of the drive from the bottom road with 2 slings of cement. Some damage was done to the quarry waste surface but, if used judiciously, it will make life very much easier for the Team.
